Hey there! In April I left McLean County Animal Control and made my way to the Humane Society of Logan County. I am not the only one either! We are all lovers and have great personalities. Come to the HSLC to check me out and see for yourself how awesome my friends and I are. Just plain old goofy...that's what the people here at the HSLC say about me. I'm a little different than most cats as in I looove belly rubs! If you are paying attention to me then I will roll right over onto my back so you can rub my belly. I don't play much but I am quite the goofy fella who just loves and wants to be around people.

I was adopted out of the HSLC when I was just a pup. Due to not being socialized enough I unfortunately do not like other dogs at all, and am not a fan of cats either. I would probably do best being in a single dog home. My name is Brooklyn and although I don't like other dogs, don't let that stop you from falling in love with me. Sometimes I have goofy hair and have bedhead all day, but I love to be brushed and groomed. Kids are the best! Short humans are my favorite and I always get happy when I see them. They are fun to play with, give the best cuddles, and drop the most food, too! I know my basic commands and am completely housebroken. I am only 4.5 but tired of living in a shelter and would really love a home to become mine where I can stay forever. Will you give me a shot and find out how great and loving of a dog I am? I sure hope so!

Talk about spoiled, that's me, Ginger! Currently, I live in a foster home with other cats and a dog. We all get along great together. The reason I'm in foster care is because, well, I don't like it at the shelter! Do you blame me? Change freaks me out and I love living in an actual home with a family. I mean I need someone to talk to; I'm pretty vocal! I love attention and can usually be found by people, but I don't like to be smothered too much and prefer to just chill rather than cuddle. Overall I am a great cat who is pretty laid back. Now don't get me wrong I love my foster family, but I know it's only temporary and am looking forward to finding my new family and forever home!

Black cats are the hardest animals to get adopted at animal shelters. I know this from personal experience. I have been at the HSLC for years and am still waiting for freedom, aka a new home. Fresh air is my favorite and if you pop a window open you will know just where to find me. I must admit, I'm not the most affectionate cat and prefer to do my own thing. I don't mind people or other animals, but I do like them more if they just hang out with me rather than mess with me. When I do want attention I let you know, and like having my head petted. My back however I do not like touched, I know it's weird. I would however like a new family to take me home and give me the space I need, both in square footage and in my bubble. Don't shy away from me, I'm not as bad as I seem, I'm just a loner that enjoys my freedom!

Kayo is a 1.5 year old, energetic, adorable Pit. She loves toys and knows how to keep herself entertained, along with the people around her. When it comes to play time she doesn't mess around and loves to fetch, even if she sometimes doesn't like to give back her ball. Kayo is hit or miss with other dogs and typically does well unless provoked, however, we recommend she go to a home without other dogs. Cats she tends to ignore and does not seem to mind them, although she may try to play. Kayo is housebroken and once on a routine she shouldn't have any issues. She knows her basic commands and is very food motivated. All Kayo wants is a family to play with and then cuddle with when it is time to settle down. Come out and meet Kayo at the HSLC and maybe you'll find she's just the addition you were looking for.

Mia is my name. Recently, my owner of 10 years passed away and I was without a home. Luckily, the people at the Humane Society of Logan County had the heart to take me in. I’m a senior cat but a very sweet old lady. I absolutely love to play hide and seek, or at least the hard part. Don’t worry though, when I hear you come into my room I come right out and love attention. I’ll follow you all around my room in the hope for a rub or two. Although my owner has gone I haven’t lost hope of finding someone else to love me just as much. I’m petite and easy to please, a lap to sit on will do. Although the people here are great and the volunteers make sure to spend time with me, I would love to have a new home to go to. Could you spare some room for me?

In case you can't tell by my picture, I'm kind of shy. I do love being petted and sitting on someone's lap, but I am nervous in my environment now at the shelter and just don't know what to do with new people. Even though I don't go right up to people like some of the other cats doesn't mean I don't want attention. I enjoy being brushed or just chilling with a friend. Besides being shy I am a perfect cat and would love to be a perfect family member to. Come to the HSLC to check me and my roomies out.

I'm not an old lady yet so don't even think of calling me one! Mitzy's the name and people are my game. I love them, all sizes and ages! As long as someone is willing to pay attention to me then you better believe I'll be paying plenty of attention to you! My owner of 7 years unfortunately had some health issues of their own and had to give me up. I'm not about to let that get me down though! Due to my owner's health I have been trained to use puppy pads, but I used to only go outside to go to the bathroom. So, I'm pretty sure I can get the hang of that again. I am a special needs dog who requires medication everyday. Unfortunately, in the last couple years I started developing seizures and it was discovered I have a liver blunt. It's very easy to manage though and since I've been on my medicine I haven't had a single issue! So, what are you waiting for? I'm the cutest, tiniest, friendliest pup that you have been waiting for forever. Hop up and get to the Humane Society of Logan County and meet -me, 217-737-4042.

My family had to give me up and that is how I unfortunately made my way to a shelter.

Shyla, right here! I was found as a stray and brought to the local animal control. They transferred me to the Humane Society of Logan County. At first everyone thought I was very shy (hence my name), but I proved all of them wrong quickly! As I am getting to know someone I can occasionally be nervous but really I do great. I have met kids and like them. Other dogs get me very excited and I love to play. Sometimes I am a little too energetic though. Toys are great, especially if they squeak! Really, I'm just a lover and a lover of playing so if you're looking for someone new to join your family, well I'm right here!

I' M A Special Needs Dog I had an accident before I came into the shelter and I have lost the use of my back legs. I should probably be the only child in my new forever home. I need a lot of time and attention. I require baths and grooming. I need water therapy to improve the muscle tone in by front legs. I get along very well in my wheel cart and I am quick. As for my personality I am a sweet loving dog who only wants to sit on you lap and cuddle. Do you have the time to devote to a special needs dog? It will take someone who is dedicated to my care. Come to the Humane Society of Logan County and lets talk.

Come to the HSLC to check me out and see for yourself how awesome my friends and I are. The other cats still kind of freak me out but I don't let that stop me from getting to the people when they come visit. I love attention. In the last shelter I was always reaching through the cage to grab anyone that walked by. I also would play all the time. I am slowly getting used to the cats in my room and think given a little more time I will do great with them around.

Oh don't mind that glob on my nose...I missed my mouth with some peanut butter! So I'm Tuffy, and not so tuff. I am quite the goof and just a loveable fella. My personality is something else and I always like to be moving and checking things out. I haven't met a person yet that I don't like. My housebroken skills are prime and I walk on a leash great. It hasn't been long that I've been living here at the HSLC. They took me in from Animal Control who got me as a stray. I guess my family couldn't find me because they never came looking. So, now I'm waiting for a new family to scoop me up (although I'm quite the big muscular fella so good luck doing the actual scooping)!

Wookie was adopted from the HSLC in February of 2015. However, in October of 2016 he was found wandering the streets and was brought into the shelter where he was scanned for his chip. Unfortunately, his family never came to get him and now he is waiting for a new loving family to come take him home. Wookie is always trying to play with the staff and volunteers under his door and is always the first at your feet when you go into his shared cat room. He would love to find a new home that will play with him and give him all the attention he, thinks, he needs!
