HSLC NEEDS FOSTER PARENTS

The Humane Society Of Logan County Needs Foster Families For Two Dogs.

Abigail is a two year old female pit bull who has been in the shelter for 15 months, and she needs to have some loving family care.  Abigail was in very poor condition when she arrived, and she still has medical issues that will need attention from the foster parent.  She takes daily medication, another pill two days a week, and she gets a bath for her skin condition in special shampoo twice a week.  Because of all the attention she needs, she should be the only pet in the home.  A fenced in, grassy yard would be ideal.  Abigail was housebroken, but after being in a kennel for so long, retraining would be necessary.

Cinderella, a ten year old female pit bull also needs a foster home.  She was adopted and returned because of her owner’s financial condition, and she appears to be scared in the shelter.  She had glaucoma so one eye was removed.  In addition, she takes medication for being incontinent.  Cinderella is a loving dog to everyone except cats, so again, it would probably be best if she was the only pet.  A fenced in yard would be ideal.

If  you have time, room, and the compassion to become a foster to one of these dogs, please call 217-737-4042.

HSLC takes care of all expenses and all trips to the veterinarian.  You provide the everyday care and love.

HSLC volunteers care for our dogs and cats until they go to a forever home.

Can you spare 2 hours of your time once a week?

We are in need of volunteers at the shelter to help us with the dogs and cats.  We will train you.  You will work as a team with other caring and generous volunteers who graciously give of their time to clean and socialize the dogs and cats.

We volunteer 7 days a week. The dog schedule is 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  The cat schedule is 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  You will get to know and love our dogs and cats and rejoice with us when they go to their new forever homes.  That’s really what it’s all about.

Call (217-737-4042) or come into the shelter and fill out a volunteer application. Fulfilling our mission is dependent on our dedicated volunteers.  We can’t do this without you.
